Hospitals

All our partner frontline hospitals share the aim of eradicating reversible blindness form their regions. Their teams work tirelessly in remote and often difficult areas to identify the blind and bring them in for treatment. They are helped by a network of unpaid village workers, the vital resource in rural India that underpin so many effective humanitarian projects. During the next year Second Sight surgeons and Second Sight funds will be concentrated here.

Since 2001, our experienced volunteer eye surgeons have carried out surgery, training, and shared clinical knowledge with Indian ophthalmic teams.

Nearly 30,000 men women and children have had their sight restored by our volunteer eye surgeons and our Indian colleagues. These people would still be blind now were it not for our partner hospitals who offer the only service available to the poor in each of their areas.
