From Bihar - In their own words

Over 42,000 blind women, men and children in Bihar had their sight restored.

Over 80,000 patients received treatment for other eye conditions, including over 2,000 children.

Our FAME (Vitamin A Blindness prevention programme) continued with its feeding programm for 300 malnourished children even during the devastating floods that hit Bihar in the summer.

Second Sight’s specialists worked alongside/ trained doctors and paramedics in community hospitals in the districts of Araria, Aurangabad, Jamui, Madhepura, Muzaffarpur, East and West Champaran.

Each community hospital in Bihar consolidated its place within their own district.

All Second Sight partners co-operated with each other – referring patients needing specialist treatment, discussing diagnoses, and ensuring the best possible treatment for patients.

In Odisha state, clinical links between Second Sight eye specialists and the TN team strengthened.
